The table of features
Hoover has a reputable name in the vacuum cleaner industry providing a steady stream of reliable and high quality machines since 1908. It has been providing vacuums for both home as well as commercial settings. The GUV is certainly one of the most robust units to ever come out of the Hoover assembly line. In terms of design and technology, this is a unit that will live up to the reputation of a company which has been established over more than a century. Here’s the outline of this utility vac:
Suction power | The Hoover GUV has a decent motor which facilitates a good suction, ensuring you can pick up everything from screws and nails off your garage floor as well as mulch or various other kinds of debris from your truck bed. |
Input power | The motor runs on 10 Amps at 120 Volts. These are common specs for most utility vacs out there, although a 12 amp would somehow improve the unit. |
Dust capacity | Accommodates 5 gallons. Talking in terms of capacity, the machine's heavy-duty steel canister is a breeze to empty. All you have to do is release the side clamps, lower the tank down, empty out the contents, snap the canister back in place, and presto, you're ready to go! This bin definitely makes cleaning up a joy. It is fast, convenient, and sleek. The fact that you would never have to deal with the trouble of getting vacuum bags ever again is a big bonus. |
Filtration system efficiency | The filtration system of the Hoover GUV is state of the art and ensures smooth operation for years without interruption. Forget about buying high priced replacement filters, as GUV comes with a lifetime washable self-cleaning filter. |
Weight and Dimensions | Weights abut 30 pounds and measures 11.0" x 11.0" x 29.5". It's wall mounted, so once you set it, you're done. As you can see, a praiseworthy aspect of the GUV is that it takes up minimal space. You don’t have to haul around any bulky vacuum bag or canister. All the tools and accessories are tucked away in a surprisingly efficient storage pouch. |
Warranty | Hoover offers a comforting 3-year warranty. |
Accessories | The product comes with a 14-inch deluxe wheeled floor nozzle, a standard crevice tool, a base storage rack, and 2 extension wands. Other attachments include a bare floor tool, a dusting brush and an extended crevice tool. They're not really the best quality, but you can look for attachments made by other brands too. |
Special features | Wall-mounted Quiet, at about 70db |
Usability | Setting up the system is amazingly simple. You just have attached the wall mounted storage bracket on to your wall, and plug the machine in. There are no grizzly pipes or mad wiring, troublesome exhaust vents to get you all worked up. The unit comes with a tool storage pouch which can be also mounted on the wall. The most amazing aspect of the GUV is that how neatly organized and accessible everything is when working with it. The 30 ft crush proof hose empowers you with the ability to clean up a large busy garage. |
Price | If you think this costs too much, you couldn't be more wrong. Here's a good offer, one which I bet it will make you feel better. |
Basic Dimensions and Design
IMO, every garage/shop should be equipped with an utility vacuum cleaner. Its useful for tons of things. You can get rid of dirt fast, and it’s comforting to know you have special device which will make all the debris go away. The Hoover GUV ProGrade Garage Utility Vacuum weighs around 30 pounds. On assembly, it’s 29.5 inches high and 11 inches wide. The hose is a luxurious 30 feet long and it has a 1-inch diameter. The GUV comes with a 3 year warranty which gives you complete peace of mind. The high quality build and sleek design makes the machine a joy to work with. You might have experienced a lot of aches and pains from dragging around heavy and bulky vacuums previously. The GUV makes all of that a thing of the past. Another perk, you can work with it for prolonged periods of time without any trouble.
Above the Competition
The Hoover GUV outperforms most other utility vacuums in its segment. Setting up the L2310 is a walk in the park. You don’t have to worry about vents or complicated wiring. The vacuum itself as well as the storage pouch that accompanies it is amazingly easy to mount on your wall. The best aspect of this Hoover is that provides great value for your money in comparison to its contemporaries. Apart from a good suction, the extremely long hose and easy accessibility gives the machine the functionality of an industrial grade appliance.
Functionality and Working Experience
The GUV is a great addition to your life if you work in a garage or industrial setting where your environment is constantly cluttered and messy and needs to be cleaned up on a regular basis. Most other garage vacs come with annoying wires and inconvenient hoses that stick out all over the place, making it even more difficult to clean up. This is where the L2310 stands ahead. It is simplicity, power, and convenience all rolled into a neat package.

Final Verdict
All said and done, the GUV ProgGrade L2310 is a dream come true for people working in an industrial setting like a busy garage or workshop where clutter is inevitable and space management is a challenge. Jason, I live in New Mexico on the Western mesa, on the outskirts of Albuquerque, in a town called Rio Rancho. The area, although high mesa, is actually made of very fine sand. Our house, is, well, built on this sand dune and when the wind blows, it blows this fine sand everywhere. My problem is, that this sand builds up on our walkways and patios and gets tracked into the house. We need a way of cleaning it off other than constantly trying to sweep it away. I’m thinking a utility vac would probably be the way to go, based on the fact that water in the area is scarce so power washers are a problem, also blowers would be a cloudy mess producing a dust storm of sorts and blowing all over the already sandy landscaping. I’d like to be able to capture the sand and deposit it down wind of us or even mix it with cement and make my own bricks, to stack in a sort of artsy form to be home for lizards or something. At any rate, my question is that I haven’t found a good utility vac that would withstand constant use, act as a good shop vac be able to deal with fine sandy topsoil and be both wall/rack mountable as well as mountable on a wheeled buggy or cart. I like the Hoover L2310 but it doesn’t seem to have a wheeled buggy. Any suggestions?

The Hoover L2310 is designed to remain fixed against a wall, it’s a garage utility vacuum. What you need is a reliable mobile high power shop vac (such as the Workshop WS1600SS 16-Gallon 6.5-Peak HP), or a similar backpack vacuum (e.g. Hoover Commercial C2401).
